It starts with half a breakfast left on an ordinary morning. By the visit the vet reads one page that carries every meal left, the date of each one, and what the weight did.
A Tuesday in July
Roxie leaves half the breakfast. You type one sentence while the bowl is still on the floor, and it becomes a dated record with the sign and the time already set.
Ten days later
The same thing again. The form offers the same concern, already ticked, because the coded sign matches. You call it Eating less and mark it Watching.
A Saturday, at the coast
No signal. You record the left meal anyway. It waits on the phone and sends itself later, and it keeps the time it happened, not the time it arrived.
